Wiradjuri woman Callee Black, who is 16, has been selected to the team for the first time, off the back of a strong performance in the women’s division at the recent National Indigenous Cricket Championships in Alice Springs. She will play alongside fellow NSW cricketers Dharawal woman Taleha Urszulak and North-East Wiradjuri woman Piper Hooke.

The men’s team, meanwhile, has six cricketers from NSW. Dhungutti man Brendan Smith, Dharawal man Brynley Richards, Kamilaroi man Charlie Anderson, Kaiwalagal man Kobe Ross and the state’s Indigenous cricket captain from Penrith, Biripi man Tyran Liddiard, will be part of the squad. Biripi man Brock Larance, who is originally from NSW but plays in the WA state squad now, is also a member of the team.

Charlie Anderson will don green and gold for the second time, after representing Australia in a multi-format Under 19 series against England last month.
